Current Development Status:

I have completed map reading and the creation of new maps in the editor. I have a few things left to complete:
  • base/pillbox/spawn-point placement and editing
  • brush sizes for terrain placement
  • fixing road and boat image representations
  • tile selection on the map (some sort of visual that tells you which tile is selected)
  • rewrite map importing code

I was hoping for a soon rather than later public beta test, unfortunately I have run into a problem with importing maps correctly. This means I have to rewrite the processing code for reading in the terrain runs of the maps correctly. That means a delay in the public beta, but I hope to rectify this and push the public beta out as soon as possible.
Updated 01/01/10: Doesn't that look weird? Anyway I have found a golden jackpot in my basement. This jackpot resides on a CD back-up of some old games that my father had made. One of the backups was of his Bolo folder and the nearly 1000 maps that went with it. So as a gift for the new year, I present to you a complete archive of maps! Enjoy!

UPDATED 12/21/09: Good news before the holidays! I have recently been able to get maps to load in nuBolo, which is my prefered bolo OS X port because it keeps the same feel as the original game. Map exported from BoloEdit fully work in nuBolo. I will be finishing up the code for exporting maps correctly by the end of this week, and should have a beta for the new year. Please send me an email if you are interested!

UPDATED 12/05/09: Today is a very good day. I have achieve in a few hours something that took me more than a week to do in reverse. I was able to export a working bolo map on my 38th attempt this morning that I was able to play in Xbolo. While this is very good news for the editor, I still have a few more things to do before I have a working copy that I can beta. However this is coming together much faster than I ever thought.
